04/17 || Indie Stop || Dead Cells || Cap Doesn't Remember How to Play!

So I feel like I learned a bit since the last time I played this, aka turning off some of the twitch integration, somehow I never realized I could turn some of the stuff like making bosses harder and such.

Damn I got to try so many new items, hell I even found a freaking build that made me love the NutCracker, which is still the best name for a fuck-off-hammer. I really don't even know what else to say about this because it was just such a silly stream with me trying to relearn how to play, since Gothic checked and the last time I played on stream was in September.

If this bonkers metroidvania seems like your jam think about getting it over on Humble and using our affiliate link to help us out at the same time!

04/04 || Indie Stop || Iconoclasts || Optional and End Bosses

I'm still regretting splitting these up to some extent, but OH MY GOD THIS WAS FUN! Like both of the optional bosses in this stream are probably some of my favorites in the entire game. Some of the bosses in this game felt like they were just kind of puzzle fights, some better than others. A few fights felt kind of like Metal Slug bosses, I'm looking at you helicopter, and those were mostly solid. And then, there were some boss fights that felt like they learned the wrong things from Dark Souls and Hollow Knight bosses, *Cough* Mother'sentirebodybeingahitboxandflyingaroundthescreenwithnoiframes *Cough*

But then we get to fights like the Corners, seriously I can't believe I didn't get that until several hours after the stream, and Fitzroy.

These two are probably the best boss designs in this game. And you know what, I have too many thoughts about these fights to put them here, so expect sometime this week to see a blog post or something that is a write up on the boss mechanics because I loved both of them.

We did also manage to finish the game, but the final boss fight is....weird? and has story implications I'd rather not spoil. And even once the boss was down I had a big discussion with Twitch chat about the game and the characters. And while no two people completely agree on a lot of stuff from this, I still enjoy that we could have the discussion.

If you want to try out Iconoclasts for yourself consider getting it on Humble and using our affiliate link to tell them we sent you.

04/03 || Indie Stop || Iconoclasts || City One

Butts, this was a long stream for such a cute game. Like given that I've at time of writing like just finished it and my total playtime is something shy of 19 hours and that's including a bunch of off stream item hunting I did. So like this stream accounts for something like 28ish% of my total playtime of this game....that's weird to think about honestly.

This was such a weird stream because I spent like, the majority of it moving through new or perplexing areas, mostly One Concern areas and City 1. Like we had a grindy not super fun fight with Mother, and amazing fight with Agent Black that I feel was let down by its lack of checkpointing. But then we also got my new favorite gun and learned about the freaking jankiest puzzles in that game, uhg, like the crate stacking one that was just a freaking slog.

But really, over all this stream was awesome, though, damn did the game get freaking dark as we closed on the end, and I still think Elro is an ass who wanted to trade his stupid desire to die in his own home for a chance to maybe save everyone.

I highly recommend Iconoclasts and if you think it looks like a game for you, maybe think about getting it on the Humble store and use our affiliate link to help us out too.

03/13 || Indie Stop || Hollow Knight and Spellbreak

I didn't really want to split this stream into two separate streams because the first section, while not by any means short, was basically just me slamming my head into a single..... wait two Hollow Knight bosses?

If you want to skip to Spellbreak it starts here

https://youtu.be/3pn5wZJTfDM?t=7513

Basically I sort of decided that while I intend to finish the Godmaster Pantheons at some point, doing it on stream is just more of a pain in the ass than its worth to me. So instead I decided we would got get the two endings we have access to now. We took out the titular Hollow Knight once now that we have the void heart to get the siblings ending.

And then I spent the remaining.....like hour and a half? beating up the hollow knight until we could start the fight with the Radiance, where in I would immediately get my face kicked in for the first like...30 minutes?

But eventually we took out the Radiance, got the almost kind of true ending before Godmaster came out, and then we moved on to Spellbreak!

This goofy little game is a new Battle Royale by Proletariat to be published on the Epic Store. It's currently in a closed Alpha, but that alpha has no NDA so I was playing it and damn was it fun! The gyst is that instead of guns you have magic gauntlets that fire an element. Elements fire in different ways and have a grenade like ability attached. Oh and all the kind of magic can interact, like wind can hit some poison on the ground and make it puff into a cloud, an earth tremor can run under a firewall and start gouting fire.

If you liked Hollow knight you can get it on Humble and help support us.

And if you think Spellbreak looks cool you can apply to join the closed alpha at the link below.

02/13 || Indie Stop || Arcade Spirits || Too Wholesome!

So, this game was sent to me by the publishers, PQubed, and damn am I so happy. This game is just so cute. Like yeah its a dating game, so there are going to be some characters not everyone likes and we met some of the ones that aren't for me, but the rest are amazing. Well even the ones that aren't for me aren't bad, just not for me.

But I don't think I'll ever forget some dumb things from this stream, like the terror of first meeting ashley in the flamingo suit, and having a conversation about dinosaurs and dinosaur games with, I only realized later, one of the writers!

We played Arcade Spirits which can be bought on Humble Bundle here! We will receive a portion of the proceeds if you use this link
